Welcome to Musicorld.com!
Musicorld (or Musical World) started as a small project to backup some of my old musical theatre
stuff but since then, many changes have been made to it. The site that you are
viewing is a continuous work in progress. New reviews of theatre experiences,
cast recordings, musical DVDs and books will be added as soon as they are
written. There will also be new sites dedicated to different musicals featuring
their synopsis, libretto, midi clips as well as reviews of stage or screen
productions and cast recording.

I caught Jerry Springer - The Opera several years back at the Cambridge
Theatre in London's West End and while I came out of the theatre repulsively
enjoying the musical. Why? Musical theatre isn't normally synomanus with
gratuitous vulgarity but in this production, the two mingle flagrantly. During
the production I watched, Alison Jiear tore the house down with her number "I
Just Want To Dance" where she sings about her yearning to be a... pole dancer.
Please be warned that this song contains vulgarities but it's so rare (and
hilarious) that a song so powerful would just interweave a vulgarity. And this
is one of the tamer songs too!

Featured Cast Recording
A great offer I picked up at Tower Records (Piccadilly Circus, London) which
seemed to be clearing their stock of musicals that nobody wanted, Heading East
is actually worth much more than the ₤3.99 they were selling this for. A
pleasant Asian musical with a cast headed by Paolo Montalban, my biggest grouse
is the synopsis and cast information written on the sleeve of the cover in what
must be a size 4 font. For more information on this cast recording, click
here. - Cast Recordings Main Page

Featured Screen Musical
It is not often that planes screen classic musicals as part of their in-flight
entertainment so I was pleasantly surprised to see "On The Town" amidst the
latest blockbusters during a flight out of London. It will be revived at the
London Coliseum in early March. The movie version starring a young Frank Sinatra
is reviewed here. - Screen Musicals Main Page

Featured Stage Musical
Four years ago, a new, original (how long have we waited for this?) musical
comedy hit the West End's Theatre Royal Drury Lane. The Witches Of Eastwick was
one of the most magical musicals I had ever seen and promised so much especially
with a cast headed by Joanna Riding, Maria Friedman and Lucie Arnaz.
Disappointingly, it closed within the same year but I will definitely remember
the music and the magical moment when the witches "fly" into the front stalls.
Read about that magical evening here.
